Cabbage and pork soup combines Asian flavors into a comforting and easy-to-make recipe. The mix of Chinese cabbage and marinated pork in ginger and soy sauce creates an ideal dish to enjoy on cold days.
The pork is mixed with aromatic ingredients.
Ginger is sautéed, and chopped cabbage is added.
Then the pork is added, and it is cooked slowly.
Cabbage and Pork Soup
Ingredients
1 Cabbage
28 grams of Pork
1 teaspoon of Salt
2 Ginger slices
1 ½ cup of Boiling water
½ teaspoon of Cornstarch
½ teaspoon of Sugar
2 tablespoons of Soy sauce
1 pinch of Pepper
½ teaspoon of Mei-jing powder
Preparation
Step 1 : The pork is thinly sliced and marinated in a mixture of sugar, pepper, soy sauce, cornstarch, and vegetable oil.
Step 2 : In a pot with a little oil, sauté the ginger and salt for 30 seconds, then pour in 6 cups of boiling water.
Step 3 : Chop the cabbage into julienne strips and add to the pot.
Step 4 : Cover and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.
Step 5 : Then, add the pork and mei-jing powder, cover the pot, and let it simmer on low heat for 15 minutes.
