Chinese Orange Liqueur
Ingredients
30 Kumquat oranges
1 liter of High-quality dry brandy
½ liter of Water
600 grams of Sugar
2 Vanilla beans
2 Cinnamon sticks
Preparation
Step 1 : To prepare this orange liqueur, first wash the oranges thoroughly with water and dry them.
Step 2 : Then, in a large pot, place the oranges and brandy, cover, and store in a cool place for 2 months so the brandy extracts the flavor and water from the oranges.
Step 3 : It is important to stir occasionally to ensure the liquids mix well.
Step 4 : After two months, prepare a syrup to dilute the alcohol content and sweeten the liqueur.
Step 5 : Heat water and gradually add sugar to make a light syrup, avoiding boiling.
Step 6 : Once the sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and let it cool.
Step 7 : Once cooled, mix it with the liqueur and oranges, letting it rest for a month so the oranges can fully develop their flavor and sweeten.
Step 8 : After this period, prepare the bottles to store the liqueur.
Step 9 : Place a vanilla bean and a cinnamon stick in each bottle, pour the liqueur, and let it rest for a few weeks so the vanilla and cinnamon perfume the liqueur before serving.
