Chinese Ribs
Ingredients
1 Pork rib rack
½ cup of Hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon of Five spice powder
2 tablespoons of Soy sauce
1 tablespoon of Water
1 teaspoon of Liquid smoke
½ teaspoon of Ajinomoto
2 teaspoons of Sesame oil
1 tablespoon of Honey
1 teaspoon of Red coloring
1 pinch of Salt
Preparation
Step 1 : Start by preparing the sauce, mixing all ingredients except salt until achieving a smooth mixture.
Step 2 : Next, season both sides of the ribs with salt and completely coat them with the prepared sauce.
Step 3 : Let them marinate in a dish or a sealable bag for at least two hours, preferably overnight to enhance the flavor.
Step 4 : To cook the ribs on the grill, place them over medium indirect heat, cooking for about an hour.
Step 5 : During this time, check that they are well cooked and, if you want a more caramelized finish, finish the process over high heat.
Step 6 : Meanwhile, pour the reserved marinade sauce into a pot and bring it to a boil for about 5 to 6 minutes to eliminate any bacteria.
Step 7 : With the boiled sauce, brush it onto the ribs using a brush, either on the grill or in the oven, to achieve a charred and delicious glaze.
Step 8 : To prepare the ribs in the oven, first preheat to 375°F and bake them covered with aluminum foil for one hour on a tray with a rack to allow the fat to drip away.
Step 9 : Then, uncover, raise the temperature to 475°F, and add the sauce on top, baking for 8 to 15 minutes until the edges are blackened, depending on your desired level of doneness.
Step 10 : Finally, let the ribs rest for a few minutes before serving so the juices are well distributed and the flavor is intensified.
