230 milliliters of Water

450 grams of Ground meat

50 milliliters of Soy sauce

15 milliliters of Oyster sauce

1 teaspoon of Five-spice powder

1 Handful of chopped cilantro

1 teaspoon of Sugar

100 grams of Chopped onion

50 grams of Chopped carrot

50 grams of Chopped cabbage

Sunflower oil

1 pinch of Salt

1 pinch of Pepper

Preparation

Step 1 : To begin, slightly warm the water until it is lukewarm and dissolve the yeast in it, helping with a whisk to make mixing easier.

Step 2 : In a large bowl, combine the flour with the yeast solution and start mixing with a spoon or spatula.

Step 3 : Then, knead with your hands until you get a dough that easily releases from the bowl.

Step 4 : This kneading process helps develop the texture.

Step 5 : Once ready, cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest in a warm place until it doubles in size, about one to two hours.

Step 6 : Meanwhile, prepare the filling in another bowl.

Step 7 : Mix ground meat with soy sauce, oyster sauce, five-spice powder, grated ginger, chopped cilantro, salt, sugar, and finely chopped vegetables.

Step 8 : It's important to mix all ingredients well so that flavors meld completely.

Step 9 : Then, refrigerate the filling to intensify its flavors while the dough rests and rises.

Step 10 : When the dough has risen, knead it gently again and divide into several parts, forming balls of the desired size.

Step 11 : Flatten each ball into thin discs, placing a portion of filling in the center.

Step 12 : Carefully seal the edges, forming small pies.

Step 13 : In a large skillet, heat a bit of oil and place the pies in batches.

Step 14 : Brown them lightly on both sides.

Step 15 : Then, add water to the skillet until it covers half of the pies, cover, and cook over medium heat until the water evaporates and the dough is cooked and firm.

Step 16 : This process ensures the pies have a soft interior and a golden exterior.

Step 17 : Repeat this method with all portions of dough and filling.

Step 18 : The Xian Bing are served still hot, and can be accompanied with sauce if desired.

Step 19 : Enjoy their unique flavor and perfect texture, and dare to experiment with different fillings to make them even more special!
